Cohorted February 2016 White Box

The White Box

First off I would like to apologise for the late review of this box, this was due to my box arriving late and after many frantic emails trying to track it down it appeared at my door step this morning.

The white box is stunningly beautiful to behold with its fancy ribbon and luxurious white card, I was greeted by a spicy smell upon opening which had me worried that something had broken, but nope it hadn't, I was excited at what I was about to see and smell.

Also a little added extra I am going to be getting a mans view on the perfumes see where they stand on the subject, I can't guarantee the opinions being very detailed but he may surprise me. Im not giving him any clues, not even a name so we shall see.

I forced myself to look at the full size product last, so consequently ended up selecting products in size order so here we go.......

Chloe - 1.2ml sample

A Modern perfume that I'm sure every girl other than me in this world owns, I love it for the simple fact that it has peony listed as one of the ingredients and Peony just happens to be one of my most favourite words in the dictionary, other than that its a nice smell but not necessarily one I would purchase full size of as I prefer sweeter smelling perfumes and this one is just a little too sharp for my nose, Husbands opinion .....hmmm very oaky ...its alright
No RRP in the book for this sample.

Estee Lauder - Intuition

I wasn't initially sure who this perfume was by so wasn't really sure what to make of it, once I looked in the book I saw Estee Lauder and got excited as I hadn't owned one from this brand previously however once I read that it was spice smelling I was not so pleased as this is really not my smell however I will try for a day see how it goes, see if I get any body notice that sort of thing, and let you know how this goes, Husbands Opinion............Its alright quite potent
RRP £10 5ml

Jimmy Choo

A little Gem, I love love this perfume and was super happy to see this adorable little bottle in my box, I had recently reluctantly run out of this beauty and am over the moon that I now have a little bottle to tide me over until I can get to the shops :) Husbands opinion .......Rosey, he likes it reminds him of autumn. I'm proud of him for spotting the rose and he would of been in trouble if he didn't like it :)
RRP £10 for 4.5ml

Penhaligons  - Ostara

Serious spring time in a bottle right here, this reminded me upon smelling from the bottle of the days as a child collecting rose petals from various neighbours gardens and smashing them all together in some water ( anybody else?) then smothering myself from head to toe in said water, the nostalgia was immense, Once sprayed however it changes completely and I was hit with instant daffodils as if I literally had my head planted firmly inside one smelling its glorious smells, Nothing says spring more than the daffodils popping up to say hello, I shall be wearing my Ostara to greet them that's for sure. A beautiful smell that I am thoroughly pleased to receive as its not one I would have chosen if I was to shop myself but I am incredibly grateful to be able to wear it and encourage spring from its bed.
Husbands Opinion lemony like soap I don't mind it maybe a bit of talc smell too.
RRP £67

Until Next time my lovelies xx

Cohorted Black Box February 2016 Review

Cohorted February is my very first Cohorted box and it did not disappoint I have been excited and waiting with baited breath for this box to arrive and as soon as the postman delivered it I dived straight up stairs box in hand to open my little box of treasures. This stunningly elegant Black box, tied with a luxurious looking black bow made for an even greater expectation for what was inside.

ELEMIS - Hydra gel eye masks

I was actually happier than I would have been a few months ago at receiving these eye masks, if someone would have given them to me then, my reaction would have been one of confusion but now having been an avid youtube watcher and blog reader I am fully aware of these little beauties, I rang my husband and told him he needs to be fully grateful if I let him use one of these precious gems, after all we do need a males perspective too right? After having them on this evening I can confirm that he does in fact have reduced fine lines....score ( my turn tomorrow ) RRP £15

Dove - True Tone underarm lightener

This one shocked me a bit as I didn't expect to receive a Dove product in my box of high end products and it does not appear in the booklet anywhere so I have had to do a bit of research, It sells for around £12 and seems to do its job, a bit of google image searching reveals a few before and after shots and various other armpit pictures :/ I suggest googling only if your OK with seeing some strange looking armpits, It states that its a night time cream so I will be testing when the appropriate hour appears, who knows you may even see some before and afters here as well :)

BareMinerals - Night treatment - medium

Next I saw this bad boy, I was thrilled to see this as I know about this product and it's apparent night time pore healing powers, I had never tried it for myself but its one I was considering buying for my own collection, I'm seriously considering a bit of laser resurfacing so anything I can do to help before that stage is going to be amazing, Very happy with this product Cohorted! well done. Also another plus is that it has a little colour so when you go to bed at night you don't have to look like a pasty, ghost like version of yourself, you can in fact look a little more even toned and fresh looking it however is not as covering as to make you look like you have freshly applied foundation. The real test is going to be break outs or no breakouts.......tomorrow morning we shall see. RRP £45

Marc Jacobs - Lola

This little beauty bonus smells delicious, I love a little perfume sample its just perfect for popping in your hand bag for a little freshen up during the day, a perfect little extra that was hidden down the side of the box.

Cargo - Longwear Lip gloss - Rio

My first cargo product, thank goodness it was a cute colour :) otherwise my introduction to the brand could have gone very wrong, I have swatched and tried this gloss on and I am questioning the longwear description as it seemed to stay for the same amount of time as any gloss but that's not to say I don't like it because I do, Its just the longwear part I feel is an unnecessary addition to the product, The colour is beautiful a coral pinky colour that has great payoff, this colour in a lipstick would be to die for, Can we have that next month please Cohorted...pretty please. RRP £10

Chanel - Longwear Luminous eyeshadow - Apparition

The item I was most excited about, this eyeshadow is BEAUTIFUL! depending on how you look at it, its grey, then its purple then its black, the shimmers are just stunning and make this eyeshadow just mesmerising to look at, It can be blended out to a very light grey or layered to create some very intense looks, I even used the quite stiff little brush that came with it to create some winged eyeliner and the shimmery effect that came with it was dazzling I simply could not stop moving my lid around in the mirror making it sparkle, If you couldn't tell I am a sucker for sparkle and this eyeshadow has me hook line and sinker, I do suggest using a primer as there was some fall out and slippage of product on the eye that didn't have primer on, this however certainly does not detract from my love for this eyeshadow, I have always used Chanel foundations but now feel there shadows will slowly start making there way into my collection if they are all as beautiful as this one!

Now please send out the white Boxes Cohorted I'm excited!

Until next time xx

February Birchbox Review 2016

February's Birchbox

Talk about make a girl feel glamorous, Couldn't possibly love this theme more, It almost makes you want to shout out at the top of your voice......YES I WILL!!! I WILL SHINE!!

I have high hopes for this box following last months box and I have not been disappointed.

PARLOR - Jeff Chastain blowout spray

another product by Jeff this month but I really don't mind, last months shampoo and conditioner although small went down a treat my hair felt beautiful after although I did notice a little stickiness the day after, I have big expectations for this and fully expect it to leave my hair looking beautiful, however Birchbox please don't fill our box with this every month a few different brands to try to see how we really feel would be brilliant :) RRP £16

Spectrum Collection- Tapered powder brush

woah there is pink! was my first thought when opening the box, when I realised it was a brush I was over the moon, More please :) this brush is so soft and luxurious feeling, I could literally run it over my face all day, I used it today to apply my bronzer and thoroughly enjoyed doing so, using such a pretty brush made me feel like I was a fairy or a mermaid using my specially made brush by the water sprites it was amazing :) RRP £7.99

Delarom - Creme Acquaconfort

A little luxury coming our way with this face cream, the perfect luxurious pick me up face cream and its RRP definitely fits right in with the expensive feel of the box, this cream smells divine and makes your skin feel revived, all hydrated and new, This again is going to be a product I am unable to part with, another repurchase over here from me. Its basically a super posh moisturiser that does a brilliant job, just wait till you try! RRP £34

LOC - One and Done shadow stick - champagne

A beautiful gold sparkly shadow stick that will make any eyelid look a million bucks or inner eye which ever takes your fancy, I have tried both today and got plenty of comments on how beautiful my eyeshadow was, I preferred it in my inner corner as it just popped more there. This is a birchbox exclusive, their first in house brand and you can really tell they put some thought in, I also put a swatch onto my hand and am yet to be able to remove it :) RRP £8

Catherine Malandrino - Style de Paris Eau de Parfum

This months Beauty Bonus and its Divine I know perfume is a personal preference so don't take my word for it, you need to smell it yourself but its defiantly one for me, it oozes elegance, grace and power, I can not wait for a special occasion to wear this too I can just feel the compliments already.
RRP £50 full size

TheBalm - Frat Boy blush/shadow

Soooo excited to receive this product, its seriously tiny but somehow that just doesn't matter, I have never seen packaging like this before, the cutest little book all designed to look just how the name suggests, having never owned anything from the balm before I am intrigued as to how this goes on, lasts and wears, my plan is to test and update you so watch this space. RRP £15.50 for full size product

Until next month Birchbox lovers xx

February 2016 Glossybox Review

Glossybox February 2016 Review

My First ever Glossybox , I signed up just in time to receive this adorable little box, which I'm pleased to tell you all has great products in, If yours is on the way be excited!

First off how adorable is the box! Husband if you are reading this take note...I have a new found love for heart balloons lol.

NAOBAY - Protective hair mask volume conditioner

The first thing I saw was this HUGEMUNGOUS ( not a real word I know but seems to fit somehow) bottle, no wonder the box was so much bigger than the birchbox I received it had to be to fit this monster, reading through the information they have supplied they state that its great TLC for heat styled hair, which lets face it is hard to avoid if I don't want to resemble a scarecrow when leaving the house, All they say it takes is a 3 minute mask after you have washed your hair, guess my hair is going to enjoy its shower later :) RRP 10.64 the product was full sized.

The Vintage Cosmetic Company - Floral slanted tweezers

These little cuties are brilliant, I don't know about you but I have such a hard time finding tweezers as I find a pair that I think are cute ( as seems to always win me over) and 9 times out of 10 they do zip nadda in helping me with my crazy! eyebrows, I have already been at the mirror testing these babies and they work a treat, very pleased I received these because not only are they pretty and work but also my pickle of a husband likes to steal my tweezers frequently so i can give him my old ones to keep instead of keep chasing him down to get them back lol. RRP £8

MUA - Powerpout glaze - Allure

Now I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with MUA its sold in superdrug, Its not necessarily a brand I would head for, I have bought eyeshadow from them before but only use them for my nieces if they are staying over and want a make over evening, in fact I think I gave them to her, saying this thou seems like I don't like them which is not true they are just not my first choice, I'm still going to keep this in my bag to see if I reach for it at all, the swatch I done seems OK, its not particularly long lasting, I put some on and hadn't eaten or drunk anything and unfortunately 30minutes later it was all gone, so good for a quick first impression, at only £3.50 RRP its defiantly a bargain.

Nicka K - 24hr Waterproof eyeliner - Dark Brown

OK so, at first I was disappointed to get the shade I did but I have tested and its actually alright, it's really quite dark so along your lash line it looks actually quite beautiful and maybe dare I say a little more flattering on me than the usual black, I tested some blending in various locations and found that if I worked relatively quickly I could get it to achieve some beautiful shades and looks on my eye, I found the little smudge brush on the other end a little aggressive but nothing switching to an old faithful smudger brush didn't solve, This eyeliner actually is quite versatile and I was able to create some stunning evening looks as well as some barely there daytime looks, one I recommend. RRP £3.99

Wilkinson Sword - Hydro Silk Razor

This product shocked me, I really didn't expect to see a razor it really caught me off guard, don't get me wrong I'm pleased as its saved me a trip to get a new one, I just was caught off guard, The Hydro has one of them water activated bars that leave your legs feeling to die for afterwards and with Shea butter included in there too I can imagine how beautiful they will feel, It seems I'm going to be having a busy shower tonight, I'm normally a Venus girl so a change of brand is exciting who knows am I going to be a permanent mover? lets see lol RRP £9.99

Latest In Beauty Box Review

Latest In Beauty Box Review

Latest In Beauty is not a subscription service, the service requires you to choose which option you require which are either £8.99 for 3 products, £12.99 for 6 products or £16.99 for 9, you are then directed to the build your own box page with various different categories ranging from makeup to skin care, you just select your required or desired products and hey presto they are mailed to you, there is a shipping charge which for my box was approximately £3 but I am unsure if this would be the same for everyone no matter where you are.
The only disappointing thing for me is that it did not come with an information card with product RRP and details regarding the products in general but nothing a bit of googling whilst blogging wont cure :)

I choose the £16.99 option and I shall show you what I choose.

Earth Kiss - million year clay facial bamboo sheet mask - Rhassoul clay & Juniper

So the first product I chose was this Bamboo sheet face mask which I am currently sitting here typing with it on my face as I had a busy hen weekend so need to feel some revitalisation in my life. I have visited their website and as you can imagine they are a Eco friendly 100% natural face mask, the masks are priced at £1.99 but I'll assure you that it feels much more expensive than that when it's on your face.

ST. TROPEZ - Gradual Tan in shower

I got very excited when I saw this as an option to add to my box and added it straight away, its not the biggest size bottle at only 50ml but i am OK with that as I'm not really a big tanner but love to use some just before going abroad so I don't look pasty when arriving or just before a big event like the hen weekend I was just on, I used it Thursday and Friday I did notice some streaks on my arms, I didn't find it the easiest product to use mostly because I could not work out when I had rubbed it in enough, however by Saturday the streaks had blended and I was looking a little sun kissed. I have gone and had a look at their website and apparently its a new product out which is exciting also the full size is 200ml and is priced at £14.50.

Vichy - Dermablend

Next I ordered myself some vichy dermablend I didn't realise that it was going to come in these little sachets and thought maybe it would be in a small container as I was only ordering 10ml, if I had known it was going to be these sachets I defiantly would not have ordered them as I personally cant stand them and find them fiddly and messy, I have yet to try any but I will let you know as soon as I have, Upon visiting their website I see that this is one of their best sellers, I was having difficulty finding the product size but a full sized product would be £18.

BOURJOIS 12hr Aqua Blush

Also I picked this bourjois 12hr Aqua blush their was no choice in shades that I could see, I swatched this as soon as I opened it and unfortunately it does not show up on my skin tone as anything other than a little shimmery so maybe I could use it as a highlight but I would then be worried about camera flashes and would defiantly not want the colour to all of a sudden show and there I am with peachy pink highlight no no no, not a good look, so I think maybe I will be giving this away to one of my paler skinned friends who would get much more use out of it then I,  This retails for around £9

Exuviance - Face Polish

I picked this polish as well to be honest I just got attracted to the word microdermabrasion I am forever looking for ways to better my skin as I was not very kind to it as a teenager and I am desperate for anything that might make a difference, I am yet to use this product just in case it broke me out before my big weekend but as i am home now I shall be giving it a whirl in the shower tonight, lets hope I have found myself a little miracle....The RRP on the full size product is £52!!! and I received a good sized bottle, I will defiantly update on how this goes.

Me Me Me - Cherub's Blush - cheek and lip tint

This product I have wanted for ages I know its been out forever and I was forever curious but never made the move and bought one so as soon as I saw it on the website I didn't hesitate, I have tested and am pleased to say its as interesting as I thought it would be, The colour is beautiful on your lips although I recommend using a different brush than the one that comes attached in the lid as that one resembles a child's paint brush, It makes your lips look the colour of just eaten strawberries sort of coloured and flushed looking, I am sure you could darken the colour by adding more but then why not just use a lipstick instead, I have not tested as a blush yet although I have swatched on my hand and I'm not sure how well it will blend as it seemed quite a stiff product so my advice would be act fast if blush is your aim with this product. RRP £7.25

 Rimmel - Provocalips

I chose this product as I am really getting into long lasting red shades at the moment and this was one that i hadn't tried yet and I'm not sure that it would be one I would go to pick up and buy, its OK its a very true red and quite bright although honestly I would say their are much better ones for the same price point out there for instance I am loving maybelline SuperStay 24hr as a go to long lasting brand, I am yet to find one that lasts as long, The RRP for this lipstick is £6.99.

Philip Kingsley - Daily Damage Defence

Ordered because I had run out of my previous one and will defiantly repurchase I am loving philip kingsley products at the moment and can see myself sticking with them, I have quite thick, damaged hair so defence sprays are a must for me when styling and even a spritz or two when I'm not, I really do suggest trying this brand as you will love it RRP £22

Philip Kingsley - Elasticizer

My most favourite thing of this whole box! I popped this on and followed the instructions and I swear it created new ends on my hair, My ends are recently bleached so were in major need of some TLC looking all broken and split I put this product on before washing my hair and I promise you at least 80% of my split ends just vanished! I was seriously amazed, I need to have this product in my life forever now, I will never be able to part with it, my ends were beautiful and shall forever remain that way all because of this little beauty. RRP £30 although now I have looked at their website they also have an extreme version which I will for sure be purchasing as soon as this one is running out!

well that's all for my LIB box.

would I purchase again?

yes! but only with a little more research into what the products were first, but to be honest I think I would have a whole box of Philip Kingsley :)

January Birchbox Review

January's Birchbox
has no doubt the cutest box I have ever seen, who doesn't love Pinterest so having some of it's most beautiful pictures mixed with some inspirational quotes and some beautiful shades of pink make this box simply stunning. Now onto the bit I'm sure everyone is excited about..........the products!

upon first opening the box I was greeted by some sweet little postcards, 5 to be precise all with beauty quotes and pictures, I am sure I could find a use for these at some point! I'm quite crafty so I feel a bit of cutting and sticking coming my way soon :)

I received a BEAUTY bonus in my box which was this adorable little mirror, although its not enclosed both sides so more of an in purse mirror than floating around in my handbag type of mirror. It has an RRP £4, Every body needs a little mirror on hand to avoid panda eyes right? :) and this little pink number is perfect for just that.

THE 2-IN-1 SKINCARE TREAT Doux me-comforting face mask and exfoliator

Next I spotted this pink polka dotted scrub mask and let me tell you it smells divine! if you love the smell of sweet things you will love it......Marshmallow.....yum!!! Birchbox say in their description that its good for sensitive skin too so seems like a good all rounder, you can use it as an exfoliating scrub or a luxurious 10 minute mask, I opted for the 10 minute mask first and loved every minute of it, I will be trying the exfoliating part later today and can not wait, my skin felt so soft after and I could smell marshmallows all day...heaven. RRP £18 for full size I received 15ml

THE HAND HYDRATOR Crabtree & Evelyn La source Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy

Next came this hand cream, now i am not a consistent hand cream user currently but when I worked in pubs I would have loved this, its ultra moisturising and would have been heaven for the sore dry hands you inevitably end up with when working in the hospitality industry, I am yet to decide what I am going to do with this product don't get me wrong I have smelt it and tested and its amazing however I feel that some of my old work buddies would benefit more from this seaweed and algae based hand lotion, I think I am going to save it and pass it on to them the next time I see them, there was one girl in particular that really suffered so I think its coming her way. The RRP for full size is £15 and I received 25g which still seems like quite a large sized sample to me.

THE LIP SOOTHER Nutrilips Balm in Lorella

Now this product I can see myself getting LOTS of use out of, Its a beautiful neutral colour and I know some people do not like their make up to smell and if your one of them people then this product is not for you, I find the smell OK and not overpowering at all and will use this on a daily basis and maybe purchase another one as its done wonders with my winter dry lips that always crack much to my annoyance, I got the shade Lorella, the other option was Alice I would be intrigued to know what that shade looked like, This balm feels silky smooth when its on but not sticky like some balms can be, I feel its quite long lasting as I only needed to reapply 2 or 3 times a day where as with some other brands I have had to apply approximately once an hour. The RRP is £14 and I received a full sized product.

THE HAIR HYDRATORS Parlor moisturizing & repairing shampoo and conditioner

I am excited to give this shampoo conditioner combo a go, I will be doing so later today as I was waiting for a special occasion to give a fancy shampoo a go, I have opened an smelt the shampoo which only increased my urge to use it but i had to be strong willed and wait :) It states that its moisturizing and repairing so I am hoping for a small miracle here, I think it may be one that requires several uses over a few months to really gain the benefits but I'm the sort of girl that judges everything to do with my hair on how it instantly makes it feel and if that's good then I continue because I know its only going to get better :) So wish me luck tonight haha. The RRP is £16 each for full size and i received 30ml shampoo and 12ml conditioner which unfortunately due to the amount of hair I have will only probably just cover my ends but we shall see, If only the conditioner had been the same size as the shampoo and maybe I could of got 2 uses from each, or maybe even 3 from the shampoo it depends how it soaps up there is nothing worse than shampoo that doesn't give enough bubbles it just doesn't feel the same or as clean if you ask me.

THE LASH SUPERCHARGER Benefit They're Real Tinted Primer

Woah!! was my reaction when I saw this product I couldn't believe that I had such an amazing product in the box, I was that excited that I immediately took it out and tested it and I was not disappointed, It states that its tinted and upon seeing that it was not black I did worry slightly but the mink brown colour I received was beautiful when worn on its own, it just makes your lashes more noticeable, more bouncy, more lifted and full looking, the perfect no make up makeup product and then I added my they're real mascara on top and I was woahing all over again simply amazing I have always been a massive fan of Benefit anyway but the combination of these 2 that I tried was superb, I also for the sake of real testing tested with a cheaper mascara the next day and was still very impressed your lashes look more voluptuous and long, I honestly think this is now going to be a new staple for me to have in my make up bag as I can use it on the I cant be bothered days and the I'm going out on a night on the town days too. I am so so happy with this product and am so hoping to see more benefit products in the future from Birchbox.
