Latest In Beauty Box Review
Latest In Beauty is not a subscription service, the service requires you to choose which option you require which are either £8.99 for 3 products, £12.99 for 6 products or £16.99 for 9, you are then directed to the build your own box page with various different categories ranging from makeup to skin care, you just select your required or desired products and hey presto they are mailed to you, there is a shipping charge which for my box was approximately £3 but I am unsure if this would be the same for everyone no matter where you are.
The only disappointing thing for me is that it did not come with an information card with product RRP and details regarding the products in general but nothing a bit of googling whilst blogging wont cure :)
I choose the £16.99 option and I shall show you what I choose.
Earth Kiss - million year clay facial bamboo sheet mask - Rhassoul clay & Juniper
So the first product I chose was this Bamboo sheet face mask which I am currently sitting here typing with it on my face as I had a busy hen weekend so need to feel some revitalisation in my life. I have visited their website and as you can imagine they are a Eco friendly 100% natural face mask, the masks are priced at £1.99 but I'll assure you that it feels much more expensive than that when it's on your face.
ST. TROPEZ - Gradual Tan in shower
I got very excited when I saw this as an option to add to my box and added it straight away, its not the biggest size bottle at only 50ml but i am OK with that as I'm not really a big tanner but love to use some just before going abroad so I don't look pasty when arriving or just before a big event like the hen weekend I was just on, I used it Thursday and Friday I did notice some streaks on my arms, I didn't find it the easiest product to use mostly because I could not work out when I had rubbed it in enough, however by Saturday the streaks had blended and I was looking a little sun kissed. I have gone and had a look at their website and apparently its a new product out which is exciting also the full size is 200ml and is priced at £14.50.
Vichy - Dermablend
Next I ordered myself some vichy dermablend I didn't realise that it was going to come in these little sachets and thought maybe it would be in a small container as I was only ordering 10ml, if I had known it was going to be these sachets I defiantly would not have ordered them as I personally cant stand them and find them fiddly and messy, I have yet to try any but I will let you know as soon as I have, Upon visiting their website I see that this is one of their best sellers, I was having difficulty finding the product size but a full sized product would be £18.
BOURJOIS 12hr Aqua Blush
Also I picked this bourjois 12hr Aqua blush their was no choice in shades that I could see, I swatched this as soon as I opened it and unfortunately it does not show up on my skin tone as anything other than a little shimmery so maybe I could use it as a highlight but I would then be worried about camera flashes and would defiantly not want the colour to all of a sudden show and there I am with peachy pink highlight no no no, not a good look, so I think maybe I will be giving this away to one of my paler skinned friends who would get much more use out of it then I, This retails for around £9
Exuviance - Face Polish
I picked this polish as well to be honest I just got attracted to the word microdermabrasion I am forever looking for ways to better my skin as I was not very kind to it as a teenager and I am desperate for anything that might make a difference, I am yet to use this product just in case it broke me out before my big weekend but as i am home now I shall be giving it a whirl in the shower tonight, lets hope I have found myself a little miracle....The RRP on the full size product is £52!!! and I received a good sized bottle, I will defiantly update on how this goes.
Me Me Me - Cherub's Blush - cheek and lip tint
This product I have wanted for ages I know its been out forever and I was forever curious but never made the move and bought one so as soon as I saw it on the website I didn't hesitate, I have tested and am pleased to say its as interesting as I thought it would be, The colour is beautiful on your lips although I recommend using a different brush than the one that comes attached in the lid as that one resembles a child's paint brush, It makes your lips look the colour of just eaten strawberries sort of coloured and flushed looking, I am sure you could darken the colour by adding more but then why not just use a lipstick instead, I have not tested as a blush yet although I have swatched on my hand and I'm not sure how well it will blend as it seemed quite a stiff product so my advice would be act fast if blush is your aim with this product. RRP £7.25
Rimmel - Provocalips
I chose this product as I am really getting into long lasting red shades at the moment and this was one that i hadn't tried yet and I'm not sure that it would be one I would go to pick up and buy, its OK its a very true red and quite bright although honestly I would say their are much better ones for the same price point out there for instance I am loving maybelline SuperStay 24hr as a go to long lasting brand, I am yet to find one that lasts as long, The RRP for this lipstick is £6.99.
Philip Kingsley - Daily Damage Defence
Ordered because I had run out of my previous one and will defiantly repurchase I am loving philip kingsley products at the moment and can see myself sticking with them, I have quite thick, damaged hair so defence sprays are a must for me when styling and even a spritz or two when I'm not, I really do suggest trying this brand as you will love it RRP £22
Philip Kingsley - Elasticizer
My most favourite thing of this whole box! I popped this on and followed the instructions and I swear it created new ends on my hair, My ends are recently bleached so were in major need of some TLC looking all broken and split I put this product on before washing my hair and I promise you at least 80% of my split ends just vanished! I was seriously amazed, I need to have this product in my life forever now, I will never be able to part with it, my ends were beautiful and shall forever remain that way all because of this little beauty. RRP £30 although now I have looked at their website they also have an extreme version which I will for sure be purchasing as soon as this one is running out!
well that's all for my LIB box.
would I purchase again?
yes! but only with a little more research into what the products were first, but to be honest I think I would have a whole box of Philip Kingsley :)
